Your wedding day is the most wonderful day of your life and it is something you and your partner will want to remember forever. Being able to look back on your wedding photos and remember all the romance, happiness and fond memories of the day will bring you both joy for years to come. Because of this, you’ll want to ensure you get the best Highland wedding photography you can on the day. Of course, your wedding photographer will be there to do just that, but there are a few additional things you can do to guarantee each intimate moment is captured perfectly.
Choose a Photography Duo
There will be so many special moments of your wedding day that you want to capture and remember forever, but your Devon wedding photographer can only be in one place at one time. That’s why hiring a duo or small team is perfect. Two lenses allow you to ensure you have multiple angles of the day – and especially of the aisle as the wedding party walks down which helps you avoid any accidental people-in-the-way of the big partner reveal. It’s also great for when the couple sneak away for some private pictures a bit later on, as there is still someone available to capture the fun at the reception!
Plan for Extra Time
Wedding days usually have a busy schedule, so when one thing overruns (usually the getting ready!), it can skew the whole day. Planning for extra time allows you to feel more relaxed, means you don’t have to rush through anything and allows you and your partner plenty of time to capture some stunning images with your photographer.
Capture Your Couple Shots During Golden Hour
Just before sunset (around 30-45 minutes), the lighting is simply stunning. Beams of golden light cast beautiful shadows, making it many photographers’ favourite time of day. Pick the perfect location and ask your photographer to be free for couple’s shots at this time. Of course in the Highlands summer sunset can be very late so a Spring, Autumn or Winter wedding would be better for this!
Reaction Shots from Your Highland Wedding Photographer
Images of reactions can be some of the most incredible images of the day. They are the most genuine photographs you can capture and looking back on them really helps you to relive those magical moments. Whether it’s the moment you see your partner walking down the aisle, the moment you cut the cake, or seeing your family and friends during the speeches – that you might have missed on the day! Your photographer will be on cue to capture these moments will ensure your wedding photography is perfect when you receive the final shots.
